What We Are Looking For

We’ll make sure you’re properly onboarded into the team and given a crash course in the fundamentals, but we will require you to possess a few key things:

  • A deep passion for and knowledge of football (you’ll need to know your Francis Jeffers from your Eddie Nketiah’s!)
  • Experience in online football journalism (news aggregator and social media experience is preferable)
  • An outstanding work ethic, the ability to meet deadlines, take on feedback and the drive to achieve huge page views.
  • The ability to accurately analyse statistics and convey them in a way our audience finds easy to consume.
  • Adaptable to change and able to react quickly to the fast-paced nature of football.

  • Video Content Manager

    Snack Sports is offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to lead a video content strategy for two of its flagship brands - GIVEMESPORT and Football FanCast.

     

    It will be your job to acquire and commission videos that have a great chance to go viral on our social platforms.Initially focusing on Facebook, you will make sure that both sites accounts have a steady stream of video output, before developing both GMS and FFC’s video output on other social platforms.

     

    As an experienced video manager, you will know the types of videos that will help enhance the brands’ reputations, while at the same time, also providing a sound return on investment.

     

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

     

    • Somebody who can spot sports videos and trends on social platforms before they go viral (essential)
    • A strong contacts book of video creators that can help you execute your vision (essential)

    Are you an experienced football writer with a passion for the English Premier League? Do you have a strong opinion of all the major storylines surrounding the world's biggest league? Are you able to articulate your opinions concisely and with conviction?

     

    Football FanCast is looking for opinionated and experienced football writers, who are passionate about the English Premier League, to join its growing team of journalists.

     

    We don't write news in a conventional way. Every article has an opinionated angle to it, but we always make sure we substantiate our opinion with facts, stats, quotes and evidence to ensure our audience is always left feeling educated and fulfilled by the content they consume.

     

    If you are the perfect fit for our team of journalists, you will…

     

    • Have extensive knowledge of the English Premier League, both in the present and historically
    • Have experience writing about the English Premier League, either online, in print or both
    • Have a solid foundation of SEO knowledge, including the skills required to ensure your article is formatted correctly for Google Search
    • Have experience writing content targeted for search traffic
    • Have had some experience writing content for a NewsNow audience
    • Have had some experience writing and marketing content for a Facebook audience

    Job Responsibilities

     

    • Write 8-10 400-800 word articles-a-day
    • Regularly liaise with editors and sub-editors to ensure all content submitted is angled and marketed to fit our content strategy
    • Pitch articles, including angles, titles and substantiation
    • Input work into our CMS, as well as find and format images, according to our guidelines
