Kane leans towards staying

Harry-Kane-transfer-news-update-Bayern-Munich

The Athletic: Star striker Harry Kane is now leaning towards staying at Tottenham as he decides on his immediate future. This comes after Bayern Munich saw another bid for the England captain rejected.

Kane is supposedly reluctant to leave Spurs once the season has started. That essentially puts a timer on things - it all kicks off this weekend. Thus, the lack of movement on Tottenham's part has the player coming to terms with another season at home.

Of course, it is at least partially beneficial for Kane to remain with Tottenham. He's out of contract next summer, and, should he remain for another year, would be able to sign for whoever he wants. There's always a chance he gets a much bigger contract as a free transfer, too.

This one isn't quite over, but it's starting to feel that way. Don't be surprised to be reading all about Kane's future all over again next summer.

Bayern ready another bid

Florian Plettenberg: Bayern aren't quite done with their Harry Kane interest, it seems. Despite seeing another offer rejected by Spurs, they'll make one - likely final - attempt to find the right fee.

This time it's around £95m all-in. The offer will be formally in by the end of Wednesday, with the Bavarians aware that Kane wants this sorted this week. If Spurs were to reject it, that's probably that.

But perhaps they'll accept. One way or another, we're getting the ultimate answer this week.

Veliz signs for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs have signed Argentinian forward Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central. The 19-year-old has impressed since breaking into first-team football and makes the move as a player with real potential.

It's unclear how much Spurs fans should expect from the get-go, but Veliz is certainly a name to look out for over the next few years. He could have a big part to play in the post-Kane setup.

Talks for Tapsoba

Evening Standard: Spurs are continuing in their talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Edmond Tapsoba.

Leverkusen have slapped a £40m price tag on the 24-year-old, who still has three years remaining on his contract at the club.

The 36-cap Burkina Faso international was recruited by the German club in January 2020 from Portuguese outfit Vitória Guimarães for a reported fee of around £15m.

Tapsoba's stock has continued to rise throughout his three and a half years in the Bundesliga, and his performances have led to interest from several clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

Spurs are thought to be some away apart from Leverkusen's valuation and a deal at this stage looks unlikely.
